  • When will you start taking online reservations reservations?

    Individual online tee time bookings have historically begun in late March. A staggered opening proved itself to be successful in previous seasons and we will continue with this model for the upcoming season. Dates will be announced in the new year. You can sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about these dates.

  • When does the course open for the upcoming Season?

    Opening date will be May 7th, 2025 * Weather Permitting

  • How far in advance can I book?

    There is no restriction as to how far in advance you can book for regular and twilight tee times once the initial online reservations are available.

  • How many Tee Times can I book?

    There is no limit to how many tee times you are able to book while online. Telephone bookings are limited to 3 Tee Time bookings per phone call.

  • Can I book 36 holes in one day? One course in the morning and the other in the afternoon?

    Yes. you are able to book for 36 holes! We recommend that there is 6 hours between each tee off to ensure you have time for a short break and are able to get to the second tee time on time.

  • What is the deposit taken when I book?

    The deposit is $25 per golfer and is refundable up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled tee time. This deposit will be credited toward your total on the day of play, and you will pay the balance upon check in.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    • Cancellations / Modifications 72 hours or more prior to the confirmed tee time will receive a 100% refund of the $25 per person deposit. 
    • Cancellations / Modifications inside of 72 hours and outside of 24 hours. Deposit is non-refundable.
    • Cancellations / Modifications within 24 hours of the confirmed tee time, will be responsible for the full cost of regular green fees for the booking.
    • Please note, golf is an outdoor sport and as such weather conditions aren't always perfect. Guests are expected to honor their reservation in less-than-optimal conditions. If the Kananaskis Country golf course deems the course unplayable on your scheduled day of play, no fees will be charged, and deposits will be refunded.
  • Can I prepay for a tee time?

    Prepayments can be made by contacting the golf course directly. There is also an online gift card option that we encourage you to take advantage of where the gift card can be sent to the individual directly via email. 

  • Can I transfer my tee time to someone else?

    Yes, you can. Please call our reservations staff at (403) 591-7070 and let them know you are going to transfer your tee time. The recipient of the tee time is then asked to call in and provide all their booking details. The deposit will be refunded to the original guest and a new deposit will be applied for the booking.

  • Will we be paired up with another twosome?

    Yes, you will be paired up with other golfers. Our demand is so high that very rarely is a tee time not completely full.

  • Can I bring a non-golfer along just to ride along?

    Yes, you are able to bring non-golfing guests onto the course. They will be subject to the same $25 cart fee and are expected to abide by the golf course rules as well. All non-golfers must be accompanied by a golfer in each cart.

  • Do you have walk on times?

    We DO NOT set aside tee times specifically for walk-ons. Please call the golf shop on the day to see if any spots are available.

  • Can we play as 5?

    We DO NOT allow fivesomes and tee times are limited to 4 golfers per time. We will book you in as a threesome and a twosome if you need 5 players.

  • Is there a waiting list?

    Yes, we do have a waiting list. We do encourage people to call back periodically to check availability. It is possible to see cancellations although we do not make any guarantee. The best time to check for cancellations is between one week and three days prior.

  • Can we play as two groups of 3 if we have 6 golfers?

    With 6 golfers, the group will be booked as a foursome and a twosome. The booking is done this way to avoid the 2 remaining single spots as they are much harder to sell compared to a twosome.

  • What time should I arrive at the golf course?

    45 minutes to 1 hour before your tee time will allow you time to get checked in, grab your cart, enjoy the complimentary warmup at our practice facilities, and be able to grab a snack at the snack shacks before the round. Have some extra time before? Come out earlier and enjoy breakfast or lunch on our scenic Summit Restaurant Patios. Although reservations are not necessary, we encourage you to secure one through the Open Table booking link on our website!

  • What should I wear to play golf?

    Dress in layers as weather in the mountains can change rapidly and can be different from where you are traveling from. If you happen to forget anything to wear, our well stocked Golf Shop has you covered with great selection and excellent value! Dress code at the course is very relaxed. No beach wear.  

  • What time does Twilight start?

    Twilight starts at various times throughout the season. On any given day, twilight will start approximately 1 hour after our last regular tee time.

  • Will we be able to complete our round in a twilight time?

    We do not guarantee you will finish 18 holes during your twilight tee time; however, it is a reduced rate to reflect that.

  • Is the driving range open for twilight golfers?

    No, the driving range is not open for twilight golfers. The driving range is complimentary 45 minutes before your regular hours tee times, subject to availability.

  • Do you have a 9-hole rate?

    No, we do not have a 9-hole rate. Golfers are more than welcome to play 9 holes if they please, but they will be charged for a full 18-hole green fee.

  • Do gift cards expire?

    No, Kananaskis Country Golf Course Gift Cards don't expire.

  • Do rain checks expire?

    Rain checks are only valid for up to 365 days after they are issued.

  • What happens if the weather is bad?

    In terms of weather, we don’t base any cancellations off of a forecast, it will be determined the day of by our professionals in the golf shop. We suggest calling about an hour before you plan on coming out to see what the day is looking like.

  • What happens if the course gets rained out?

    If you are checked in and are out on course and weather is deemed dangerous or unplayable, you would receive a raincheck for the holes you have not finished. If you have not checked in then your tee time would be canceled and you would receive your deposit back.

  • Can I book a group of 12 or more players?

    Yes, you can! Please fill out the Group Request Form that can be found on the website, or you can email Trevor, our Director of Tournaments and Sales, at tsecundiak@kananaskisgolf.com.

  • What is your signature hole?

    Our most photographed hole is #4 on the Mt. Kidd Course as well as #6 & #15 on the Mt. Lorette Course. Make sure you have your camera ready throughout your round as the surrounding views make each shot extremely special. 

  • What is the elevation of the courses and surrounding mountains?

    The courses are situated at almost 5,000 feet with the surrounding mountains towering at 9,700 feet above sea level! Golf balls travel an extra 2% for every 1,000 feet above sea level, so at our courses you can expect an extra 10% on each of your shots.

  • Which course is better?

    Some guests may have an individual preference to which their favorite course is but both courses are considered some of the best mountain golf has to offer.  Both layouts are in the valley bottom creating some of the most spectacular mountain views imaginable; along with the mountain views you will engage with the sights and sounds of the Kananaskis river. 

  • Where did the courses get their names?

    The courses are named after the picturesque backdrops on each of the first tees. Mt. Lorette to the North and Mt. Kidd to the west

  • Which course was built first?

    The Mt. Lorette course was the first to be designed and first opened in 1983.

  • Can I park my motorhome overnight?

    No, you are not able to park your motorhome in our parking lots overnight.

  • What are the hours for your Summit Restaurant?

    The Summit Restaurant opens daily at 7:00am and will close shortly after the last carts come off the course. These hours do change depending on the length of the day. 

  • Do I need a Kananaskis Conservation Pass to park at the golf course?

    Yes! The government of Alberta requires you to have a Kananaskis Conservation Pass to park anywhere inside the Kananaskis Park. These can be purchased at the visitor’s center located on Highway 40 or online at https://www.alberta.ca/kananaskis-conservation-pass
